Depart from Brindisi to discover the Apulian port city and its history, visiting the Alfonsino Castle and the Mariner of Italy monument at the entrance to the port. Continuing south, passing through Lecce, you can visit the Baroque-style monuments: the Cathedral, the Basilica of Santa Croce and the Column of Sant'Oronzo.
Take the coast road and head towards the easternmost point of the boot up to Otranto; a fortified city, whose ancient village is enclosed by the defensive walls that allow, through the Porta Alfonsina, access to its interior.
